Installation of 36 pieces Charcoal and fine art printing of photographs on cotton paper Variable dimensions 36 Paintings translates a sonic impulse into a sequence of thirty-six works made through drawing and photographic printing on cotton paper. The resemblance between their surfaces unsettles the distinction between what is drawn and what is recorded by the camera. As viewers move through the installation, recognition of the images emerges from the interplay between their material traces and the viewer’s expectations. The work explores how appearances can lead us to ascribe a different nature to an image, opening a space for fiction within the very act of recognition.
